Youβre nervous system is a gateway, a portal to healingβ but not just that, itβs the foundation upon which sustainable healing rests. This isnβt about regulation as avoidance. Itβs not about βcalming down.β Itβs about embodiment of your truth. And your body knows the truth, even when your brain tries to justify it away. This is why you can tell yourself youβre fine, that youβre safe, that everythingβs okayβ but you still flinch when someone gets too close, eye contact feels intense, you canβt relax even when nothingβs wrong, or it doesnβt take much to feel like everythingβs falling apart.
Your nervous system is constantly sending messages between the body and the brainβ and most of those messages move from the body to the brain. Not the other way around. Which means: You canβt think your way into safety.
You have to feel your way there.
