You’re nervous system is a gateway, a portal to healing— but not just that, it’s the foundation upon which sustainable healing rests. This isn’t about regulation as avoidance. It’s not about “calming down.” It’s about embodiment of your truth. And your body knows the truth, even when your brain tries to justify it away. This is why you can tell yourself you’re fine, that you’re safe, that everything’s okay— but you still flinch when someone gets too close, eye contact feels intense, you can’t relax even when nothing’s wrong, or it doesn’t take much to feel like everything’s falling apart.
Your nervous system is constantly sending messages between the body and the brain— and most of those messages move from the body to the brain. Not the other way around. Which means: You can’t think your way into safety.
You have to feel your way there.
